Open your cans/tins with hygiene in mind courtesy of the Auto Safety LidLifter from Kuhn Rikon. Once attached via the automatic, ‘lock-on’ mechanism, the opener removes lids without any contact whatsoever with the contents of the can/tin. It also prevents the all-too-common problem of lids falling into the can/tin. The device is safe to use as well as being hygienic: it doesn’t actually cut the metal, which ensures that unwanted sharp edges do not remain on either the can/tin or the lid. After a full rotation around the lid – and a noticeable reduction in resistance – the can/tin is open (and no more turning is required). To complete the job, simply lift the lid from the can/tin using the mini-pliers/pincers.
